Ok. So i want a finch feeder to feed finches or a hummingbird feeder to feed hummingbirds. I can only choose one because my mom only want 2 bird feeders in our yard. We already have a bird feeder that mostly feeds sparrows and we cannot get rid of that! Feeding the finches are more cooler but feeding the hummingbirds are much more cheaper. I really do not car about the price. I can only get it if I pay with my own money ( which i don’t care). please help me!!so what should i feed?? Also if i get it i will have to buy thistle food for the finches and make my own or buy hummingbird nectar. So witch one should i feed. Also the finches will NOT eat the bird feed we already have. Which should i feed? Should i feed the finches or feed the hummingbirds??? HELP PLEASE!!

I found some Oriole nectar on clearance and would love to use it in hummingbird feeders as long as it’s safe for them. I hate using sugar mixture if I can use this colorful, premixed nectar that also has vitamins and minerals for birds.

I have a few questions about bird feeders that I would like to get answers to. I have read that the bird feeders should not be placed near windows for the birds’ safety. What other places should and/or shouldn’t a bird feeder be placed (bushes, trees, fences, etc)? I’ve heard hummingbird feeders are normally colored red to attract hummingbirds. Second question: are there specific colors a bird feeder should be painted to attract birds?? Any other info I may need to questions I did not think of to ask would be greatly appreciated. The bird supply aisle had a lot of this one particular "wild bird food" had on the packaging "colorful bird blend." So, that’s what I bought.
Currently, it’s on a shepherd’s hook that sways a little bit which makes me think birds will not be inclined to use it. Should I abandon the hook and go for a more solid pole mount.
